Methods Study Design and Data CollectionThe PPGIS survey was completed in Albany, Carbon, and Sweetwater counties in Wyoming, USA (Figure 1, 58,962 km 2 ). The area is predominantly rural, with an approximate population of 88,000 (2007, U.S. Census). Although less detailed than the face-to-face street survey, the PPGIS survey also collects data on people’s activities in the Wessex BESS landscapes and on their landscape preferences (on the arable/semi-natural grassland gradient). 2.2. PPGIS Interface PPGIS was designed as a spatial online survey [19,23–25]. The survey’s base map was taken from Google Maps and is based on its application programming interface (API).
